The 48Ks
Original Artist
With their new album out, The 48Ks are pushing forward, playing support slots for the likes of Cast, Space, The View, The Enemy, Reverend & The Makers, The Hoosiers and many many more.
The 48Ks' founding members and principal songwriters Ryan Lightfoot and Steve Dale became acquainted through the Doncaster music scene. Although both were in their own bands at the time they decided that they would be better off joining forces and working together. This was the foundation for a strong writing partnership which remains to this day.
Their influences are quite broad, with songwriting and lyrical influences from the likes of Lennon/McCartney & Paul Heaton, drum and bass influences from Entwistle of The Who and Led Zeplin's Bonham and his thunderous drums sound. Guitar infuences hugely from Steve Cradock of OCS and 4 part vocal harmonies influenced by The Beatles & The Beach Boys. The band try not to pigeon hole into a genre, but in the words of lead vocalist Ryan "we want to write the kind of songs that our audience are still singing on the way home". This coupled with a rock solid and innovative rhythm section and tight vocal harmonies makes them both a great live & studio band.
